Using the Organogram Designer
Is the Organogram Designer really free to use?
Yes. You can build an org chart with up to 2 levels, 10 boxes and 50 people at no cost and with no login. The free plan includes one watermark-free PDF or PNG download plus unlimited watermarked downloads.
Does my data ever leave my browser?
No. The Organogram Designer runs entirely in your browser. Names, titles, and exports are processed locally on your device and are never uploaded to our servers.
What file formats can I export my org chart to?
You can export to PDF and PNG on every plan, including Free and the 48-Hour Access pass. Native, fully editable PowerPoint export is available on the Monthly and 12-Month Pro plans only.
Can I import a staff list instead of typing names one by one?
Yes, on the Monthly and 12-Month Pro plans. Upload a CSV or Excel staff list with the upload button, then drag names from the Unassigned list onto your chart.
What is a “shared services” person in an org chart?
A shared-service person — for example an HR or Finance business partner who supports multiple teams — can appear in more than one department box on your chart, connected by colour-coded dotted lines, without being duplicated as a separate person. The shared-services layer is available on the Monthly and 12-Month Pro plans.
Do I need to create an account to use Pro features?
No. Pro is unlocked with a licence key emailed to you after purchase — there's no account or password. Paste the key into Manage Devices to activate Pro on that browser.
How many devices can I use my Pro licence on?
A single licence key covers up to 3 browsers at a time. You can revoke a device from Manage Devices to free up a slot for a new one.
Pricing, licences and billing
What's the difference between the Free plan and the 48-Hour Access pass?
Free gives you up to 2 levels, 10 boxes and 50 people with one watermark-free download. The 48-Hour pass ($2) raises that to 3 levels, 15 boxes and 75 people, with up to 3 watermark-free downloads, for 48 hours from activation. It does not include PowerPoint export, staff-list import/export, the shared-services layer, brand colours or logo branding — those come with the Monthly and 12-Month plans.
What happens when my 48-hour pass expires?
Your chart stays in your browser, but the pass's higher limits switch off and you return to the Free plan. You can buy another pass, or a Monthly/12-Month plan to unlock unlimited boxes, PowerPoint export, CSV import and the other Pro features.
Can I cancel my Monthly Recurring subscription?
Yes. Cancel automatic renewal any time from the Support page. You'll keep Pro access for the rest of the period you've already paid for; cancelling doesn't refund payments already made.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, within 30 days of purchase if you haven't downloaded anything or, for the 48-Hour pass, haven't activated it yet, in line with our cooling-off policy. See the Refund Policy for full details, including refunds for technical issues.
Do I need a subscription, or can I pay once?
A subscription is optional. Monthly Non-Recurring and 12-Month Non-Recurring are one-off payments with no automatic renewal; only Monthly Recurring renews automatically.
Is my payment information stored on your servers?
We only store your licence key (hashed), a random device ID and a device name for the browsers you've activated. We never store your chart content, names, or job titles.
